General Hand/Diver

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Follow instructions given by the Yachting Site Manager and discuss the daily tasks/pickups to be carried out.
  • Assist the hauling/lowering team in daily operations.
  • Carry out dives within the facility, as part of the hauling operation of vessels
  • Responsible for carrying out various maintenance duties to ensure the general upkeep and maintenance of the premises.
  • Clean and maintain equipment in good working order.
  • Wear always, protective clothing supplied by the organization.
  • Keep the work area clean.
  • Run company errands as may be required.
  • Perform outside custodial duties as may be requested by the Management.
  • Responsible for carrying out various maintenance and housekeeping duties as required.
  • Assist the department’s personnel when required.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the premises
  • Oversee executing and prioritizing works related to the vessel care department and related to preparation works.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Carry out dives to inspect the slings before lifting a vessel.
  • Maintain diving equipment up to safety standards.
  • Responsible to wear and ensure that all personnel and third parties on site wear protective clothing provided by the employer, when required, according to the site procedures specified in the HSE policies.
  • Responsible for your diving gear and all the safety aspects of the gear, which includes all annual costs of maintenance for the diving equipment and any additional costs for the purchase of spare parts during your employment with MMH.

 

Requirements: 

  • Need to have diving courses to work in the maritime industry, maximum depth 8m.
  • Have a good understanding of yachts and marine vessels.
  • Have good communication Maltese/English
  • The diver will be inspecting and assisting the hauling team in positioning the lifting slings when lifting the vessels.
