Course Prerequisites

Candidates should have basic knowledge of the English Language (reading, writing, speaking skills).

Candidates should be medically fit

PPE is required on the 2nd and 3rd day of the course.

Overview

Designed to develop personnel, who will be required to fulfil the role of a Slinger and Banksman, with the requisite theoretical information and practical experiences in the safe use of lifting accessories, basic slinging practices and controlling crane operations.

  • Control of Work and Toolbox Talks
  • Practical Banksman and Slinger Demonstrations and Exercises

Structure and Assessment

The course involves a 1 day theory presentation and 2 days of practical demonstrations and exercises.

Each delegate’s ability to retain the course information and to successfully carry out practical exercises will be assessed using questionnaires, verbal and observational assessments.

The course consists of 30% theory knowledge and 70%practical exercises.

The candidate must score 80% in the theoretical assessment and be deemed competent to work under supervision.

Successful delegates will be issued with a MMH Academy certificate of training.
