MMH Academy welcomes new operations manager
We are pleased to announce that Billy Pitts joined the MMH Academy team this month, in the role of Operations Manager.
Billy brings a wealth of industry-related experience to the position. Having started his career in the Royal Navy, he moved to Libya in 2008 as Curriculum Manager for MDPPC (TQ), where he managed the annual curriculum development plans and developed the curriculum area.
In 2009 he moved to the Saudi Petroleum Services Polytechnic – TQ in Saudi Arabia, as Technical Curriculum and Assessment Developer, to provide training for young Saudi men eager to join the oil and gas industry. Here, Billy undertook a number of roles and moved up the ranks to Operations and Support Services Manager. Next, he moved to Oman as Operations Manager of Takatuf Petrofac Oman (TPO), where his key areas of responsibility included the development of training policies, the design of training patterns and curriculum to meet sponsoring companies’ specific requirements.
Billy moved back to Malta in September 2017 to join other members of his family who are already based here. He has taken on the day-to-day running of the Academy, and is now looking forward to developing and expending the courses currently on offer. “This is an exciting stage in the Academy’s history and one I am proud to be part of,” he says. “We are eagerly looking to bringing more clientele in to use our state-of-the-art facilities, whilst also increasing the training support provided for the development of MMH’s own staff.”
