MMH repays €15 million bond in full and looks to next phase

Over €45 million invested in the maritime hub, with further investment planned for 2027.

Completed on 14 October 2026, the repayment of the €15million bond marks a milestone as the MMH Group prepares for its next phase of development at the Mediterranean Maritime Hub in Valletta Port.

“When our bondholders invested in 2016, they placed their trust in MMH and its future. We have never taken that confidence for granted,” said Angelique Abela, Executive Chairperson of MMH Malta Ltd. “Today, we have honoured our commitment by returning their capital in full, together with the final interest payment. On behalf of the Board, management and our team, I sincerely thank them for standing with us over the past ten years.”

The recent arrival of an offshore rig at the facility reinforces MMH’s continuing commitment to the energy sector. Its presence demonstrates the hub’s role as a base for offshore assets, bringing together maritime, technical services and logistics.

Since taking on the Marsa site in 2016, the Group has invested over €45 million in quaysides, dredging, vessel-lifting equipment, workshops, sheds and supporting facilities. Today, the hub serves offshore operators, commercial vessels and yachts, supported by MMH’s employees, specialist contractors and suppliers.

Further investment is planned for 2027, building on the capabilities established over the past decade.

“Our focus now is on taking the project forward, strengthening our infrastructure and delivering the services our clients depend on,” Ms Abela said.
