Celebrating 2 years free from Lost Time Injuries

This week marks an important milestone for MMH Malta Ltd – we’re celebrating 2 years free from LTI’s.

Lost time injuries (LTI) include all on-the-job injuries that cause a person to stay away from work more than 24 hours, or which result in death or permanent disability. Two years of no LTI’s means, that thanks to the hard work and efforts of all MMH staff, over these 2 years there were no accidents resulting in anyone from the MMH workforce missing a day’s work.

This milestone, only possible through the continuous contribution from all the staff and HSE team, is a clear message of MMH’s leadership and commitment towards Health and Safety. An ongoing comprehensive training regime and effective management were the fundamental elements in accomplishing such an important milestone. To further enforce such a concept and belief, two years ago MMH has taken it a step further and embarked on an ambitious project of setting up its own training Academy which is today a fully licensed training centre with various training courses and packages accredited by international bodies.

“MMH is committed in implementing and maintaining HSE standards throughout its operations and are applied to all third parties operating on any of its facilities”, comments Joseph Maggi, Director and COO. “We understand that we are servicing a highly regulated industry, which holds HSE as its top priority. Equally important is the safety and wellbeing of our employees, who are key to our operations.”

Noel Abela, HSE Senior Executive, continues to explain, “Health and Safety is a collective effort and everyone has the right to leave work as he/she arrives – safe and well. MMH considers this as an integral part of its mission in heightening the level of HSE culture within the organisation. As a fundamental element of our corporate social responsibility, we are also committed to contribute towards our community and believe that this is an effective way to extend the Health and Safety culture to the homes and loved ones of all our staff who in turn may be instrumental in disseminating such a culture across our society.”
