Candidates should have direct or indirect involvement in well control operations and have basic mathematical skills
The course is suitable for all personnel with an operational interest in drilling operations and is often a requirement for Floorman and Derrickman positions.
The Introductory/Level 2 course is the starting point for all those requiring well control certification. It explains the basic underpinning principles of well control, introduces the equipment used to control an influx and the basic methods employed in returning well operations to primary control.
An important part of this course is the use of our DS 5000 rig floor simulator for familiarising students with well control equipment and basic operations.
2 theory exams.
To pass the assessment and obtain a certificate, candidates must achieve a minimum mark of 70% in each section of the examination.
