Junior HSE Officer

MMH Malta Ltd is currently seeking to employ a Junior HSE Officer to join the HSE Function.

The candidate shall be responsible for assisting the HSE Supervisor with the following duties: recording and reporting requirements for the HSE Management system in compliance with OHSAS 18001 for Health & Safety and ISO 14001 in Environmental Management; assist in filling all Health & Safety Documentation; reporting and monitoring of the HSE objectives; assist in identifying and installing H&S signs across the site; assist in the procurement of function and HSE items; delivers HSE inductions; implement MMH contractor management requirements,  assist in staying abreast with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all the Health and Safety legislations; ensure compliance with all safety legislation and MMH HSE policies and procedures; assist in the identification and planning of Health & Safety training needs of personnel within the Group; participate in Health Job Risk Analysis; record all incidents, accidents and near misses and follow up with Corrective Actions; assist in the investigation of the root cause of all reported incidents/Near misses; address and action HSE complaints put forward by employees, clients or third parties; participate in regular emergency response exercises and drills, assist in maintaining records of such drills.

The ideal candidate shall be either qualified in the field from a reputable training institute or is currently reading a diploma in the field. NEBOSH certificate or Diploma in OHS from the University of Malta would be considered an asset. The candidate shall possess excellent organisation skills with an ability to prioritise important tasks, work with little supervision, have strong verbal and written communication skills, have attention to detail and possess good knowledge of computing skills/Microsoft applications such as excel, word and power point.
