European Week for Waste Reduction

MMH Malta limited is participating in the “European Week for Waste Reduction” campaign, locally co-ordinated by WasteServ Malta Ltd. The campaign aims to inform and better educate individuals as well as companies about sustainable waste management using practical solutions. This year’s theme is focused on Reuse and Repair.

This initiative moves hand in hand with MMH‘s commitment towards its corporate social responsibility  by treating the environment as a component of its process flows. MMH has implemented an Environmental Management System in line with ISO 14001:2004 and is currently in transition to ISO 14001:2015. MMH implemented a waste management plan, promoting waste hierarchy within its facility, the Mediterranean Maritime Hub, and encourages all employees within the company to eliminate waste and consider implementing the 3R’s in their daily lifestyle:

• Reuse
• Recycle
• Reduce

Over the last year and a half, several measures and actions were taken by MMH to reduce and eliminate waste. All this will be communicated during the coming week dedicated to the campaign, where we shall be keeping you posted with tips, activities and measures to reduce waste.
